Update on a story that we shared with you all a little over a week ago.  News 10 ABC is reporting that the individuals responsible for harassing and allegedly killing some ducklings on The Great Sacandaga Lake while on jet-skis have been arrested.

Two 16-year-olds, one from Duanesburg and the other from Pattersonville could face a fine up to $250. The DEC says the investigation was resolved due to the cooperation of the teens’ parents and the teens. Witnesses stepped forward and helped law enforcement hunt the reckless teens down after cameras observed the teens fueling up their jet-skis at around the time the incident with the innocent ducklings occurred.

DEC encourages the public to observe wildlife from a distance and avoid any actions that may disturb them. If you witness wildlife being harassed or harmed other than by legal hunting activities, or any other environmental crime, please call the DEC Division of Law Enforcement hotline at 1-844-DEC-ECOS (1-844-332-3267).
