Update on Condition of April the Giraffe’s Baby

We've been following the journey of April the Giraffe and her baby since we found out she was pregnant. Now, there's an update on that status of her baby.

Tajiri, April's son, is one years old and last we heard, was going to be transferred out of state to a place in North Carolina. People were devastated. According to Upstate New York, more than a million viewers watched Tajiri's birth in April 2017 on a live stream on YouTube and it has since been viewed more than 15 million times. April was even up for a People's Choice Award!

Without going into incredible detail, Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, NY announced the change via their Facebook page. In September, Tajiri was supposed to go to "outside of Raleigh," in partnership with The Wildlife Conservation Center in Arrington, VA.

With the transfer cancelled, Animal Adventure Park will begin construction next week on a new building and future exhibition for Tajiri with a possible companion.
