Updated at 6:45 p.m. - The victim of that fatal hit and run accident in Colonie on Monday night about 9:00 p.m., has been identified by police. He’s 57-year-old Randell Hayes, who was living at the Blue Bell Motel, down the road from the accident. Hayes was killed in front of Burger King on Central Avenue near the intersection of Route 155.

The police were originally on the lookout for an older model, green, four door sedan, but in an update that I read in the Times Union, that vehicle was located, but believe that it wasn’t the car involved with the accident. They are now looking for a grey-blue Honda minivan and a small blue car.

Investigators that checked video surveillance cameras near the scene haven’t found anything useful in their investigation, yet. Colonie Police still would like any information about this deadly accident. They can be contacted at 518-783-2744.
