In 2004, the Capital Region was at the top of the most prestigious of college lists: Top Party School. 12 years later, did any local colleges make the list? Who took the crown?

Princeton Review publishes an annual guide to picking and preparing for which schools to choose from and have done so since 1993. Student surveys are provided to 143,000 students at 381 colleges across the country. So, you know the results are coming right from students mouth!

Turns out the data is back, has been reviewed and the results are official, so who is the "Top Party School" for 2016?  The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Capital Region did not make the list this year - which, I'm sure parents are happy for and maybe students are, too? Here's the Top 20 as published by the Princeton Review and Huffington post:

  1. University of Wisconsin-Madison
  2. West Virginia University
  3. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
  4. Lehigh University
  5. Bucknell University
  6. University of Iowa
  7. University of Mississippi
  8. Syracuse University
  9. Tulane University
  10. Colgate University
  11. University of California―Santa Barbara
  12. University of Delaware
  13. University of Rhode Island
  14. Wake Forest University
  15. College of Charleston
  16. University of Maine
  17. University of Vermont
  18. University of Florida
  19. University of Colorado―Boulder
  20. Florida State University

As mentioned, the Capital Region is no stranger to this list and actually sat at the top in 2004 with the University of Albany. After a number of problems, which included the cancellation and inevitable ending of the schools annual Fountain Day Celebration, they've slipped from the ultimate party list.
