In a story that I read from the Times Union, Caroline Mingo, the girl’s mom, had an argument about doing the dishes. When Mingo’s daughter refused, she allegedly stabbed the girl in the back with a kitchen knife.

The girl left the house and went to the Troy Fire Department’s Engine Six quarters for help with the wound.  She was taken to Albany Medical Center after the initial treatment.

The Troy Police went to the house and arrested Mingo, and charged her with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree assault, and second degree menacing. She was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail.

According to reports, that family has allegedly had past family fights that usually involved alcohol.
