Travis Tritt’s Lord Have Mercy On The Working Man

With the Labor Day Holiday upon us I thought it would be quite appropriate to break out a tune for this week's edition of Flashback Friday for all the hard working folks out there. This week we go back 20 years to 1992 for Travis Tritt's Top 5 hit "Lord Have Mercy On The Working Man".

Released in August of 1992, this was the frist single from the Album "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", the song rose up to #5 on the Billboard charts in late 1992. Travis would follow this up with the big # 1 hit, "Can I Trust You With My Heart". It's a song that still rings true today for all the hard workin, blue collar americans out there. Travis is joined by a number of country stars in the final chorus of the song including George Jones, Tanya Tucker, Little Texas and Brooks & Dunn to name a few.

The video although obviously dated has a great message at the end seeing that we have an election coming up in November. Get out there and vote! Democrat or Republican, it's your right as an American!
