Last night I told you about a car getting hit by a train on New Cortland Street in Cohoes, which could be heard from a distance away, throughout the city.

An update for this story has made it an even sadder one. It has been confirmed that an elderly woman was killed and her husband, the driver, was taken in an ambulance to Albany Medical Center.

People that saw the accident were saying that the crossing gate didn’t come down in time. In a follow up from WTEN, one witness said that "I heard a big noise and I heard an elderly woman screaming."

Our prayers go out to the victims' family.
