What a guy is all I have to say when I hear the name Trace Adkins. Adkins has received extreme support from his fans and friends in the wake of losing his home to a terrible fire this week -- not to mention all his belongings.  However, on Tuesday, he asked well-wishers not to try and help him, but in turn, give their generousity to the victims of all the recent natural disasters that have devastated much of the mid-west and South -- such as the tornadoes and floods.

Adkins wants anyone who was willing to help him out, to instead make a donation to the American Red Cross via CMT One Country.  He feels he is blessed that his wife and children are okay, that he has his music and guitar, and that he will replace everything else that was lost in the fire.

Meanwhile, the fire that destroyed most of Adkins' home has been ruled accidental.  Investigators determined the fire was caused by an overheated or loose electrial connection in a power strip in the garage.  Collaboration from eyewitnesses also determined that the fire began in the garage and quickly spread to the attic.  Most of the home is considered a total loss.

So, back to my initial statement, "What a guy," right?  While his world seems to have suffered a major blow, Trace recognizes that others are far worse off than him and his family.  In turn, he wants everyone to give their support and efforts to the Red Cross and pretty much feels he and his family will be able to move on just fine.  One more time, "what a guy!"
