I hate waking up in the morning to tragedy. That is what happened today. I always turn on the news when I drink that first cup of coffee and today the news was all about the weather. Not about the relentless rain and clouds we have been experiencing. We, in comparison to the mid-west are lucky.

I can tell you over 89 people are dead and nearly 400 are injured as a tornado ripped through Joplin, Missouri last night.  I can't even imagine how they are dealing with the path of destruction caused by this storm which had winds in access of 200 mph.

When I got to work, I perused the news sites and found a pretty good site to check out on CNN. It gives you a pretty good idea of the destruction with pictures and some video of news coverage.

All I can say is, this is just so sad. There is nothing you can do to prepare for something as powerful or as random as a tornado. Officials were excited that people had 20 minutes warning before the tornado hit, as opposed to the normal 10. 20 minutes?  I don't know about you but I doubt I would consider 20 minutes enough warning to put my clothes on let alone prepare for a tornado. I know I will pray for the victims and their families and also for at least a small break for the world from these natural disasters.

God Bless.
