As you all know, I enjoy a visit to my local bars every now and then!  I enjoy talking to the bartenders and the people around me.  So, when I saw this list of "Bartender Secrets", I was very intrigued!  I guess once you have a few drinks, you think, hey this bartender is my friend.  But, I guess they don't always see it that way!  Here are bartender secrets I found interesting.  Let me know if you have had any funny bartender experiences!

5. Wireless gadgets measure the amount of alcohol being poured!!

Imagine?  Bars that don't have regulars (in hotels, airports) have started using wireless gadgets that measure how much is poured.  They're meant to prevent overpouring and to cut losses.  I guess in these places, no matter how much I flirt or tip, I won't get that extra splash!  Good news, bartenders don't like them either!

4. Tipping measures have changed!!

If your tipping a buck a drink that doesn't fly anymore!  Drinks are more expensive, some over $10. We are supposed to tip at least 15 percent.  At least I stopped just leaving the change and taking the bills away!!

3. Bartenders are allowed to give a free drink away!!

A lot of bars have comp tabs, which allows them to give away drinks. It's smart business and helps build a base of regulars.  I know I will be back to a bar that throws me a free drink every now and them.  But I guess that ruins my theory that the bartender thinks I am hot!!

2. They do not want to be relationship counselors!!

Who knew!  Don't ask them who is right in your current debate, they don't want to make that decision or cause a bigger fight!  I know I have totally done this before.  I will try to remember this one, but I only do it because I know I am right!!

And my Favorite...

1. They can tell if your date is going well or not!!

Don't deny it, you sit and try to analyze people in bars!!  I guess when you see enough dates anyone can become a good judge.  I would love to sit and compare my thought with theirs! And for the regulars, it's hard for them not to notice how many dates you bring in each week!  Fun!

So, there you have it, some bartender secrets.  What do you think, do you have any good stories?
