I love that Halloween falls on a Saturday this year because it means both my husband and I will be able to take our son trick-or-treating for his first Halloween and also because it means after we put John to bed, Jay and I will be able to snuggle up on the couch and finish the night with a Halloween movie or two.

Whether you need to get into the mood for Halloween, or you want to plan out what to watch after you put your tiny humans to bed, these movies should help do the trick. More than 100 film experts voted, and they say that these are the Top 10 Horror Movies of All Time:

10. Jaws (1975)
9. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
8. Psycho (1960)
7. Halloween (1978)
6. The Thing (1982)
5. Alien (1979)
4. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
3. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
2. The Shining (1980)
