UPDATE: 9/26/2012 @12N: YNN has reported that the dogs tested positive for Parvo, a neurological disorder which they couldn't treat. The surviving two puppies had to be put to sleep. So very sad.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Another sad animal abuse story to report today - this time it happened in Schenectady where three puppies were found dumped on the side of the road in a milk crate. One of the three puppies was dead when authorities found arrived after receiving a call that the animals were there.

The surviving puppies are being cared for by a vet in Schenectady but it leaves us asking what is going on that people keep leaving animals for dead. Last week was just horrifying to learn that puppies had been nailed to the railroad tracks, but then today this. The puppies were found in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood.

We're getting very upset by these contant abuse stories. There are so many resources for surrendering unwanted animals to shelters in the Albany  - and so many people willing to take them.

Assemblyman Jim Tedisco has been working hard for years to strengthen Buster's Law to punish people who commit these sort of crimes. Find out how you can help him pass stricter laws by visiting his site.

Schenectady police haven't released much more info, but if you know anything please contact them.
