Well, you have gotten your wish, cheerleaders!  Your contortions are now  considered a competitive sport

Hey,  it's the 21st century, you people at the Board of Regents.  It's about time that cheerleaders were recognized.

According to an article in the TimesUnion.com….

this new designation will place competitive cheerleading under the same set of guidelines that direct other interscholastic sports — from football to volleyball and track.

Now for you neysayers who think that there's nothing to it - I googled "extreme cheerleaders" (for research only) and found this - a final practice for the 2013 World Cheerleading competition.  These are the elite of the elite!

I rest my case (I'd have to rest more than my "case" if I tried that!)
