I don't even know what to say about this one.  I'm shocked, dumbfounded, confused, flabbergasted, astounded, bewildered, and speechless.  A 22-year-old women from Berne is facing a felony charge after Albany County deputies during a DWI investigation discovered she had her license suspended 37 times and was currently driving with a suspended license. You read that correctly.  How does this even happen?

According to the Times Union, Brittany Myers was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated after deputies found her car parked along the road near Route 32 and County Route 411 shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, officials said.

I can see having your license suspended once; a terrible mistake that you swear will never happen again  Maybe you're a little careless and slip up a few years later and next thing you know, you have multiple dings.  I feel like after 5, you just really don't care anymore and are almost hoping they never let you drive again.  After about 15 or even 20 suspensions you've given up trying to obey the law in general but you're sick of taking the bus, Uber is too expensive and you're tired of asking friends for a ride. At that point, you'd imagine that she would have had to break into her own car in order to drive it legally, but low and behold, that's not the case.  So here we are at 37 and this has finally become a news story.  My question is, how the heck was this not a news story at 12 or 22? This one is baffling to say the least.

Myers was arraigned in Westerlo Town Court and remanded to the Albany County jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, or $30,000 bond. She is due back in town court at 7 p.m. July 6.  I hope she has a ride.
