A Grand Piano. A Fish Pond. Back in the day, the New York City Subway was actually quit luxurious.

It's hard to believe, but the NYC subway use to be glorious! The Daily News just ran a great story about the first NYC Subway. It had a grand piano, a fish pond and it didn't smell like urine. The kicker? It was built illegally! Apparently when it comes to subways, crime does pay.

Maybe this is why all the rats showed up. I mean, if you were a rat and if you could go live in an underground area as nice as this, wouldn't you? Not to mention, all the free pizza you want.

Who am I kidding? I love NYC and the grittiness there. It would not be the same with a super nice subway system.
