‘The Maya Rudolph’ Show is Coming to NBC, Critics Compare it to Carol Burnett

This just in!  The Maya Rudolph Show will premiere Monday, May 19 at 10 p.m. on NBC!

The funny lady you know from Saturday Night Live, Up All Night, and Bridesmaids will host a one-hour special is a throwback to the classic variety show format and will be a pilot for a possible ongoing version!

Andy Samberg, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell, Craig Robinson and Sean Hayes will be guests.

There will be a musical guest and a live band!

Rudolph will produce with Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer.  The group began working on this variety show back in November 2013!  It's about time!

I can't wait, my DVR is already set!

A few weeks ago, when David Letterman announced his retirement, I mentioned on the air how I hope that a woman replaces him... and if that's not possible, then I want to see something different - like a variety show!  And, while I didn't get exactly what I was looking for, this is a close second!
