I'll admit, I got swept up in the whole Halo Top buzz.  How could I not?  It's ice cream that promises  "low-calorie, high-protein, and low-sugar, using only the best, all-natural ingredients to craft our ice cream so that it tastes just like regular ice cream." Well I tried a few different varieties and I was very disappointed.  Results, however, of our WGNA Facebook survey tell a bit of a different story.

  • 65 percent of GNA listeners think Halo Top is great
  • 35 percent say it's either overrated or not good at all
  • Multiple people would rather have Stewarts No Sugar Added Vanilla
  • Most people eat it because they don't feel "guilty" afterwards

Personally, my experiences with "Birthday Cake" "Chocolate Mocha Chip" and "Peanut Butter Cup" were that it was mostly bland and had a weird texture that was eerily reminiscent of freeze dried space food that we used to eat as a kid.

If "guilt-free" eating tastes like this, I'll live with the guilt of real ice cream.
