If you want to show off your tree and donate it to the Capitol for the holidays, they are looking for two beautiful trees to showcase. Two spruce trees are needed by the New York State Office of General Services to be displayed in front of the Capitol for the holiday season. OGS says that the property owners that donate the trees will have them removed in mid-November at no cost to the owners. The trees will then be lit as part of the state's big fireworks event and tree lighting ceremony in December.

They are looking for two spruce trees between 35 and 55 feet tall. It is helpful if they are in the near proximity of the Capital Region. One of the trees will be placed on the Empire State Plaza on the south side of the Capitol near the ice skating rink and the other will be in East Capitol Park.

Anyone who would like to be considered or has any questions should contact Matthew Quackenbush at (518)-474-8860 or matthew.quackenbush@ogs.ny.gov.

If you do email, please include a photo of the tree, your name, an address where the tree is located and a number to contact you.
