So as I watched football yesterday with a houseful of fans of different teams, we tried very hard to come up with all the different playoff scenarios: who had to beat who and who had to lose to see our favorite teams get into the playoffs.

This time of year, it really does get confusing, especially when you are one of those teams like the Patriots, who know they are in, but can wind up being anything from the first to the fourth seed.

So what is a fan to do? Well you can try to go over every possibility in your head, or maybe write it out on a piece of paper. You don't have to do that, however because I found the perfect site to go to. It's called "The NFL Playoff Machine" and it's on the ESPN website.

I love this thing! When you first log onto the site, it gives you options as to what criteria you want to use to predict the outcomes of next week's games. You could choose win percentage, power rankings, offensive and defensive rank, etc. Then it shows you the playoff picture with that prediction.

Here's the best part: you can also go in and pick your own results for week 17 and make changes to see in real-time how it affects the playoff picture. I really think it is a cool way to look at it and see just how each game can affect your teams status.

With that all said, I know that if the Eagles win next week, they are in and they will be the No. 3 seed. Nothing can really change that, but I know it just isn't that clear for a lot of other teams so check it out and I wish everyone (but the Cowboys) good luck next week!
