Niche has ranked the top 20 public middle schools in the Albany area - see if  your middle school made the list!

We all know overall we have great schools in the Capital Region, but some do fare better than others when being ranked by Niche's system. They based their rankings on '...state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, middle school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.'

So which schools finished at the top? In the top 2 spots, there are schools from Niskayuna. Van Antwerp and Iroquois landed at #1 and #2 on the list, respectively. Shaker Junior High School in Latham was #3, Bethlehem Central #4 and Voorheesville Middle School rounded out the top 5. Schools in Guilderland, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, Ballston Spa, Albany and several other districts made the top 20.

While rankings are great and maybe helpful for a new family choosing a place to live, great schools ultimately come down to great teachers, and we know they are everywhere in the Capital Region helping our kids learn and grow. My wife Stacy was in education for a while, and I witnessed first hand how hard our teachers work to help our kids learn everyday!
