The Band Perry’s ‘Better Dig Two’ Line Dance

It’s one of the most unusual ‘love’ songs ever recorded. Perhaps that’s why ‘Better Dig Two’ has become a huge hit for The Band Perry. Although it’-s dark delivery of ‘love to the death’ might not be a song you’d hear at a party, people are line dancing to the funky rhythm.

In addition to the dance below, other dance suggestions include ‘Canadian Stomp’ or ‘Gravedigger.’

1 & 2 Forward right mambo
Rock forward on right, recover on left, right foot next to left

3 & 4 Backward left mambo
Rock back on left, recover on right, left foot next to right

5 & 6 Right scissor step
Right foot out to right side, slide left foot next to right, cross right over left

7 & 8 Turn ½ right triple step 6:00
Left foot to left side, turn ½ right on right foot, left foot next to right

½ TRIPLE STEP TURN, BUMPS, WALK BACKWARD FAST

1 & 2 ½ triple step turn to right 3:00
Right foot behind left, ½ turn right with left foot next to right, right foot forward

3 & 4 Bump left, right, left

5 & 6 & Walk backward fast
Walk back on right and left and right and left

7 & 8 & Walk backward fast

RESTART:  Do a restart after the bumps in wall 2. Note:  You start wall 2 at 3:00 and by the time you are done with all the turns, you will be facing 6:00.  After the bumps, do the restart.

TAG: 4 Stomps during the pause.  When the beat kicks in again, start up with the sailor steps. Note: The dance starts on wall 5 @ 12:00. The song begins to slow down once the ½ turn is made you are now facing 6:00.  Do the 1/2 turn shuffle and side shuffle. You are once again facing 12:00 (she says ‘read me my last rites’).  Since there is no music and no instruments for a second and instead of doing the weave, wait a second and step in place to the 3 drumbeats, right, left, right, left (there is no drumbeat for this step but she does say, ‘let the stone say’). Continue the dance with the sailor step (she says ‘Here lies a girl).
