I had a unique opportunity last nite.  I got to emcee an event at the iconic Proctors Theatre in Schenectady. I even got to do a song parody on stage, which was a thrill.  But I actually got more of a kick watching the other acts, because they were local, and great!

There's a ton of talent in this area, fer sure, and I got to witness it first hand.  In fact, I took some shots from the wings.

First off, there was this HUGE dance troupe from the area with kids from age 3 to adult. It was the Baker School of Dance in Glenville.  Of course, the 3 year olds upstaged everyone there, including me and we'd all be the first to admit it.

Here are some of the others:

There was also an awesome local band that I've never had the pleasure of hearing before.  They are the Bluz House Rockers, and they lived up to their name last nite with some great classic rock and blues.

Not shown here, however were the Divine Dames - Elaine Williams, Kit Petit, and Donna Lee.  Unfortunately, Jenna Debrino was ill and had to cancel.   Great 3 part harmony, singing all of those hits from the late 50s and early 60's, like "Be My Baby", "Heatwave" and others.

All in all, it was a super nite, and I have to thank GE and old friend Gloria Serasulo for letting me on that stage again.
