The Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, is set to make an announcement later today.  The announcement is in regards to terrorism threats and how the country is notified.  The Department of Homeland Security is about to change the way it does these alerts by replacing the color code threat level system by what is described as a more specific alert system for the public.

"Sources say the new system will be similar to terrorism alerts currently used by Great Britain.  Under that system, the threat levels range from low to critical (Gary Cohen, Metrosource)."

Hopefully this new system will be even easier for Americans to receive the alert and to understand exactly what the alert means since the old system of color levels has been implemented for so long.  Though it seems the new system will still have the same number of threat levels as the old.
