Teaching Kids Fire Safety Even More Important as 13-year old is Arrested for Arson
Hearing about a local fire and the families or businesses or homes affected is always hard to take. You think about how something like that could've been prevented, or think that maybe it was accidental; faulty wiring, power surge, an appliance malfunction. But, this story is something that we definitely never enjoy hearing about. A local 13-year old boy, whos name hasn't been released due to his age, allegedly committed arson at a home on State Route 43 in Stephentown. The boy was arrested Thursday because it is believed that he set the fire knowing it would endanger people.
He's being charged with two felonies: second degree arson and first degree reckless endangerment.
