Even with a new album release so close she can almost taste it, Taylor Swift is adding to her calendar. The 'Shake it Off' singer will soon hit the small screen, as she's been confirmed as a mentor for season of 'The Voice.'

The 'Today Show' reveals that Swift will join the reality singing competition cast starting Friday (Oct. 3). She will mentor across all four of teams, assisting veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and newcomers Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams.

"Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift is going to act as the sole mentor for all of our teams during the knock-out round," Carson Daly says.

The superstar is a welcome addition to the show. She'll follow in the footsteps of Chris Martin of Coldplay, who was in the role last year. Swift will be able to help the team members with their singing and performing, and there's no doubt they'll learn a thing or two as they compete.

"We're happy to have her," Daly adds. In addition to Swift, each team will have their own personal advisor. Levine’s team will have Stevie Wonder, Stefani got her husband Gavin Rossdale, Shelton will work with Little Big Town and Williams has Alicia Keys on hand to assist.

This week on 'The Voice,' Shelton added a few members to his growing team. One of those additions was teenager Tanner Linford, who covered 'When You Say Nothing at All,' made famous by both Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss. The song cover wowed the country superstar, who was proud to add Linford to Team Blake.
