After Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan primed the crowd, Taylor Swift introduced her new country single to CMT Music Awards viewers. Nobody was shocked that Swift brought tons of energy and pizazz to the stage with her 'Red' performance.

If you aren't familiar with her latest album, brand new single and her current tour, Swift's ankle-length red dress, red light show, red guitar and other crimson-colored accoutrements might have clued you in to her favorite color of 2013. Before she even sang a single note, it was obvious that she was going to perform 'Red.'

It wouldn't be a Taylor Swift performance without pizzaz, which at the CMT Awards included a lights show, dancers, flag twirlers and other special effects. As always, she brought tons of energy to the stage -- this time with one long, toned leg sticking out of the thigh-high slit in her dress.

In addition to singing her heart out, the 23-year-old country star ran out onto a platform in the crowd to shred her crimson-colored guitar along with her lead guitar player.

Swift never fails to prove to country music fans just why she's a worldwide star, and Wednesday night's (June 5) 'Red' performance was no different.
