2009- Dolly Parton recieves a Tony nomination for Best Original Score for writing the music to "9 to 5."

1999- Faith Hill takes home 4 Academy of Country Music Awards.  Faith grabs Single and Video for 'This Kiss.'  Then, adds Top Female Vocalist and Event of the year for her duet with Tim McGraw on 'Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me.'

1977- Loretta Lynn is on the cover of Rolling Stones Magazine.


Tammy Wynette, 1942.  Tammy earned the nickname "The First Lady Of Country Music" by singing hits like 'Stand By Your Man' 'Divorce' and ''Til I Can Make It On My Own.'  Tammy's controversial death occurs on April 6, 1998 at the age of 55.
