The same week that he becomes a grandfather, George Strait has earned his 85th Top 10 Hit on the Country Music charts.  Plus, The Band Perry slides to the top, the same weekend that they are hoping to grab the Grammy for Best New Artist, out of all formats.

Ellen DeGeneres has always been a big supporter of Country Music.  The TV giant has helped expose our brand of music by broadcasting live at the CMA Awards,  introducing new acts like Kellie Pickler, Luke Bryan, and Lady Antebellum and recognizing giants like Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw and Glen Campbell.

As we conclude the first week of the new year, Lady Antebellum's Own the Night album, remains No. 1 again this week on the country album chart.  The record has sold nearly 54,000 copies. Martina McBride is planning to be healthier this year...

The Band Perry performed their smash crossover hit ‘If I Die Young,’ which truly put the threesome on the map, at Dick Clark’s big party last night (Dec. 31). The trio soared through the song on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.’ The event took place in both New York and Hollywood, with the Bant Perry’s performance airing from the West Coast.

The Zac Brown Band feel they are having a bit of bad luck regarding the last two award shows.  If you caught the CMA’s last month, you might have noticed the band didn’t bring home one trophy out of the five categories they were nominated.  This past Monday, they were up for eight American Country Awards and again, received no trophies.
