Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill that would end the sale of Confederate flags, swastikas or any such symbol of hate on state grounds within New York on Tuesday.  The new bill would also limit any such symbols exposure on state grounds unless it's deemed educational or used in historical context.

State and county fairs are a big deal around the Capital Region and continue to be a lightning rod of sorts.  Most recently, a group is calling for all 52 county fairs across New York state to stop the sale and display of a symbol they say represents 'slavery, racism and hate.'  Surely you've seen them, are you personally offended?

The Saratoga County Fair just wrapped up over the weekend, but don't worry if you missed it. That fair, in particular, served as only as an igniter of what's to come.  Whether it's the midway rides, the deep-fried goodness of the food, or the demolition derby, the Capital Region has no shortage of historically popular fairs for you to check out as the second half of the summer gets ready to launch
