Is it pronounced Ghent or Geh-Hent? You wouldn't know if you asked our Bethany, but I digress. It gave me the idea to pay tribute to your little corner of the world.
Our resident rhymer, Richie Phillips of the Sean and Richie Show is wrapping up another year of singing songs about everything under the sun, including small towns everywhere. Which one do you think was the best? Would you like to hear it again on the radio? Tell us at the bottom of this post below
First and foremost, thanks to all who wrote in from West Sand Lake. As one Facebook friend mentioned, I think I had more contributors than there are citizens of the entire town!
Since I was just in West Sand Lake DJing a surprise party this past weekend, a lightbulb went off-- WOW, I've never done a song about it, so here we go!
I waited til the last minute on this one and then had to go with the information that I had. I have to thank Jeff and Jason for sending me enough stuff to put a little ditty together for Canajoharie.
I have to thank a Facebook friend and Canajoharie resident, Jason, for the idea. He wanted me to write a song about his town to the tune of Alan Jackson's Chatahoochie. Genius!
Blenheim, NY. A very interesting little corner of the world in Schoharie County. They've had it tough, like the rest of the county, but people are tough there, as you are about to find out.
By popular demand, I am going to find out all that I can about this historic little spot in Fulton County. the question is - can I rhyme it all? With your help, YES!
Nice response from you guys on this one. Thanks much for your input. Time to sing about this little (but constantly growing) corner of the planet in Saratoga County
Here's yet another Albany, Area town that we pass through so many times, yet know so little about.
Well, I'm going to have to learn about it real quick if I am to put a song together for this Thursday! Please help!!!!!
...And they deserve everything they get. Poestenkill folk are really proud of their town. You can tell by the response that I received. Wow! I could have written 5 songs with all of the information. I love it!!
