When we think of donating food to our community food banks, it's usually around Thanksgiving or the holidays. There is one city in the Capital Region that every year at this time, they do a big push for donations. Here's how you can help.

When I was in school, we relied on the reduced or free lunch program and over one third of capital region children rely on it too. Now that school is out, a lot of kids and their families go without in the summer. Well you can help.

Every now and then I hear stories about kids in the Capital Region making a difference and I just need to share them.  This is one of them!

Personally, being involved in so many charities here at GNA like The High School Hunger Games and just donating to local food drives around the capital region, you want to assume it's all going to be used in the most effective way possibly but how do you know?

For the third year in a row, WGNA wants to see which high school can gather the most non-perishable food in WGNA's Capital District High School Hunger Games!

For the second year in a row, WGNA wants to see which high school can gather the most non-perishable food in WGNA's High School Hunger Games!

Tomorrow is the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) 23rd Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive. The Food Drive takes place in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America and is an effort to raise national awareness about the real, ongoing problem of hunger in every community.
