If you drive along Route 9 in the Latham/Cohoes area chances are you have driven by this eyesore. It was an operating motel for quite some time, became apartments, and then it declined. Eventually, it was condemned. Now construction crews are tearing it down.

Tobin's First Prize operated from 1924 until 1981 in the Colonie building as a meat packing plant. They also manufactured fertilizers, glue, and animal hides, and it became a meat packing operation according to Spotlight News. There were offices, a boiler room, freezers, coolers, a machine shop, two incinerators, a hog pen, and a laboratory. There was a scare recently where demolition had to be halted to deal with a possible ammonia leak. Now all that stands is the 200-foot smokestack. There is no word of when that will be coming down.

I've wondered when driving by the old Central Warehouse is I wonder what it looks like inside. Well, here's a sneak peek inside Albany's biggest eyesore.

Every time I bring Ryan to the Little League fields, we pass this huge building that is run down and dilapidated. We always talk about how they should knock it down and rebuild something there. Well now, that is just what is planned.

I pass this old dilapidated buidling almost every day while traveling on 787 and it grabs my attention in the way a bad accident would.  I can't "not" look at it. Why hasn't it been torn down?
