Decreased sales over November and December are to blame for some major "adjustments" being made at the giant retailer Macy's. These cost-cutting measures will force the closing of 40 stores nationwide but will effect ALL stores when it comes to cutbacks and layoffs. In a statement on their website Macy's says that 3 to 4 positions in each remaining store will be eliminated.

I've discussed this one with myself many many times. The fight is getting interesting.

I guess I'm not a nice enough person.  I try to give whenever I can to the Police Benevolent Assn and other charities.   We try to do our part, but I guess not enough when you consider what some people do, including a well known New York politician.

Some people are doing it! According to the TimesUnion.com, Maseratis are starting to sell in the Capital Region. So are other high ticket items.   Go figure...

Ace Hardware has to be a real bunch of happy campers, and so do the folks who work there.  Looks like there's going to be an expansion!

There are certain decisions from "above" that you have to accept.  There are others that you can understand for financial reasons, but totally ticks you off.  This is one of them.

I've never heard of this before, have you? A company that lets you basically "borrow" a car for a short period?  (Borrow might be the wrong word - you DO have to pay for it).  But it's coming to the area by the end of June.   It's called Capital CarShare
