Scrolling through Instagram yesterday, I found this amazing sanctuary called Dog Mountain and it's not that far away!

Rescued Hurricane Harvey dogs have made their way from Texas to the Capital Region and are looking for a little TLC and a brand new 518 home to call their own. Twenty-three dogs arrived at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society late Thursday night to make room for pets belonging to families who had to evacuate according to News Channel 13

Around 7:15pm Monday evening, sirens roared through Clifton Park to attend a fire that started at Camp Bow Wow, a doggy daycare facility.

As I was driving home from trivia last night in downtown Albany, it was hard not to notice the billowing smoke in the dark evening sky. That's how I knew just how bad it truly was. You can typically see just anything in a sky that dark. But, last night, that smoke couldn't be missed as fires broke out on Madison Avenue.

Animals are incredible. I truly believe that they are all born with the greatest of hearts and this golden retriever proves just how selfless and genuine they are.

The owner is being labeled a hero online, which is probably not what you'd expect when you hear that an animal was abandoned. But, in this case it does seem to make sense.

It always amazes me that first responders throw caution to the wind and go into a situation sometimes blind. Firefighters, EMTs and even police officers never know what kind of emergency they will be called upon to help.

It seems that anytime someone says that a dog is a Pit Bull, it gets met with strange looks and grand generalizations. Well, I met Cinco from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and he puts all of those to rest.

I've had my cat, Lyric since he was just a tiny little puffball of a kitten. He was the biggest of his litter, but he fit in my hand. With the smallest meow I had ever heard, he was full of energy and at times a bit of a terror. But, he's my "first born" and I love him to pieces. Some like to think cats just don't give a crap

Today is one of my favorite National holidays, National Puppy Day. I have a 3 year old Papitese (half Maltese, Half Papillon) named Lucy, am I allowed to celebrate?

Sad news from Rotterdam. It's sickening how some people can treat animals.

Our pets are very important to us and it's important to keep take care of them and pay attention to what kind of food we give our furry friends. Especially if it is being recalled for  contaminants or poison.
