It's close to that time of year when the county fairs start coming into town. I always enjoy the fairs for some great rides, games and all the great fair food. But what I think I enjoy the most is the great country music you can enjoy whether it be local or national acts.
2012 is a big year for big country Shows in the Albany Area. We have already had Rascal Flatts, Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band and Sugarland in town. Next Week is Brad Paisley's "Virtual Reality Tour". July 7th will bring us CountryFest 2012. August 19th will see Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert at SPAC and we will end the year with Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" Tour at the Times Union Center on December 4th.

March 13, 2012 I could really use your help my friends. As you know it is pretty hard to be objective when it comes to a person's children. I'd like your objective opinion on my oldest son, Ryan. He taught himself the guitar and to sing. I will admit that when he began the singing was more than a little rough but he has come a long way with it. He has worked hard and now that I actually have a recording of him I'd love to get your opinion on it.

December 27, 2011 Of the new crop of country singers that have jumped onto the scene over the past two years I am a big fan of Easton Corbin. He has a traditional country sound that reminds a lot of country music fans of a young George Strait.

Miranda Lambert had a great 2011, and was our 2011 Countryfest headliner at 1077 'GNA! We all know she's full of sass and spark withtunes like "Gunpowder and Lea" and "Kerosene" as well as her last hit "Baggage Claim."
December 18, 2011 Lady Antebellum who records on Capitol Records Nashville has had an incredible run this year with 3 number one hits. They literally just wrapped up a two week run at #1 with their huge hit "We Own The Night".
