So, the other morning, we had a special guest in on the Sean & Richie Show: Kaila Horton, from the Special Olympics of New York. Last year, Jeff Levack volunteered (or was volunteered -- the truth has yet to be determined) to go "Over the Edge." Not that I don't push him over the edge almost every morning by driving him nuts, but the real "Over the Edge" is a quest to raise money for Special Olympics right here in downtown Albany. The Readin', Writin', and Rhymin' School Tour made it's traditional holiday stop at Charleton Elementary School in the Ballston Spa, NY area. Keyboard under one arm, prizes from Hannaford Supermarkets under the other, I made my way into the classroom.
A Listener asked me the other day to re-tell the story about how "Pennies From Heaven" got started. I cant believe how long ago it was, but it all got started with a seven year old boy named Joshua Farrell and a little brown dog.
