The new Generation 6 race car gets a major test this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway since the track is typical of many of the intermediate sized speedways that NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series will race at this year. Rain washed out qualifying on Friday which means the starting grid will be set according to the NASCAR rule book.

Yesterday in the next to last race of the season at Phoenix International Raceway , Brad Keselowski would take over the points lead in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings thanks to Jimmie Johnson's unfortunate bad luck as he smacked the wall late in the race causing him to finish 32nd. Keselowski now has a 20 point lead in the standings as we head to the last race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
