Every year we designate a very special Friday to broadcast live at Hannaford on Wolf Road and sell carnations to folks heading to work to benefit the families of fallen police officers.  It's a little thing we call Blue Friday, and this year we've set aside Friday, April 29, 2016 as Blue Friday...

That's how you can describe the life Father James Lefebvre of St. Mary's Church.  An amazing advocate for police officers as well.  So much so that there's going to be a fundraiser in his honor

If you only go to one Valley Cats game at Joe Bruno Stadium, pick Community Heroes night and watch the game with me!!

Here at our radio station we are always supporting hometown heroes.  You can even submit your own if you wish.  But here is another way to salute them through the  Blue Friday organization.

We had a fantastic morning at the Hannaford Supermarkets on Wolf Road in Colonie for our Blue Friday fundraiser.   I tried to take some photos, but I was a little busy. However this one was my personal favorite, and I think it speaks volumes

Sean, Richie and Bethany, and dozens of officers and generous Capital Region listeners braved the chilly temperature Friday morning to help the families of fallen police officers during Blue Friday.

Maybe my title explains a little better what we are doing on Friday, April 24. Think BLUE.

As you know 11 years ago we started a campaign called "Blue Friday" , it was to honor the men and women who risk their lives daily to protect the lives of others, and to raise money for the families of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Each year it has grown bigger and bigger and more and more of our great community leaders are getting involved.

These kids broke the cute meter.  First graders from St Thomas The Apostle School created a brand new theme song for our Blue Friday fundraiser on April 24th to help the families of fallen police officers.  Wanna hear it?  I knew you would!

Please join us as we lamely try to mix and serve drinks for a very worthy cause - the families of fallen police officers. And BTW, Blue Friday is only days away!
