The Bruegger's Bagels location in the Delaware Plaza in Bethlehem has been a staple for thirty-one years. But it is permanently closed. Now we know what will replace it.

Today is the day that a popular bagel shop, part of a chain, will close its doors forever. This bagel shop has been in this location in Albany County since 1992.

There is a popular cafe in Saratoga that opened thirty years ago and is adding a fourth location. It will be the second one in Albany. This location has been in the works for quite some time and we finally have an opening date.

Another local Bruegger's, this one in Albany, suddenly announced Monday that they're closed.  Only 9 remain in the Capital Region for this one-time bagel king.

If you frequent Troy, then you're probably one of the many people heartbroken over this staple's closing.

Just last week, PETA suggested that instead of using the phrase 'bring home the bacon' we say 'bring home the bagels.' I'm not sure if Panera Bread's new promotion had anything to do with the PETA ridiculousness, but the timing of it seems somewhat coincidental.  Either way, it's a win-win for you because Panera wants to hook you up with a free bagel - every day - for the rest of the year.
