Be careful on the roads tonight and early in the morning tomorrow. A freezing rain advisory is in effect through tomorrow morning.

This morning when I hopped in the car for the ride down from Glens Falls for the morning show on 1077 'GNA I had 6 inches of the white stuff and the snow was still falling , but lightly.

I have been waiting for this, and it is finally going to happen! Some actual real snowfall in the Albany area and beyond.

The first big snowstorm of the year has hit......in Iowa! The folks out there are "slip sliding away" to quote the legendary Paul Simon.

With this rain we're getting today and tomorrow and the temps hovering in  the mid 30's and low 40's we might not have a white Christmas in Albany again.

Be careful on the ride home this afternoon and evening. The winds are blowing 40 miles per hour at the 1077 'GNA studios in Schenectady and even higher in the hill towns.

As the record heat bears down on us many in the Albany are scrambling to find a place to cool off. A lot of you are homeowners and have probably though about getting a pool. In ground or above ground, a day like today is a good day to call a local pool dealer and get some quotes.

After the crazy strong storms with wind, heavy rains lightning and even hail the size of golf balls in the North Country it was good to see some normal weather today.

The push continues through Albany on the severe storm front. The cell is moving quickly towards Massachusetts and Vermont. Heavy rains, strong winds in the range of 50 m.p.h. and frequent lightning strikes are what those ares will see. Remember that potential for large hail exists with this system. This storm system is producing high winds and has the potential for golf ball size hail which was actually reported in the Lake George region earlier this afternoon. It is now moving through Schenectady County and into Albany County. The 1077 'GNA studios in Schenectady are receiving heavy rains, and high winds at about 50 miles per hour.

Earlier this Spring there was actually a brush fire in Rotterdam. That is very unusual.

It had to happen sooner or later. The weather has just been too nice to be real. Tonight it will get cold again.
