The Shenendehowa School district has issued a statement about an early morning suicide on school grounds.

"The N.Y. State Police reported to school officials that at approximately 1 a.m. Friday morning, the body of an adult male was discovered on school property. While the police are still investigating, the apparent cause of death was suicide. The police responded after a relative of the deceased placed a 911 call. The police are reporting that the individual resides nearby the campus and has no affiliation with the school district. Weapons were not involved and there are no indications of foul play. This is a police matter, any questions should be directed to the N.Y. State Police."

A call from a relative of the 42 year old victim, who is not identified at this time, was made to a 911 operator Friday morning. After state police and the Saratoga County Coroner arrived at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead.  No weapons were found on scene, and police say there was no foul play.

State Police are reporting that the man did live near the school, but is not connected with the school district.
