If you have been dreaming of a Capital Region White Christmas, it looks like your dream will come true with an actual Christmas Day snowfall!

Early models were saying rain and a White Christmas was looking unlikely, but with colder temperatures creeping in we could have the dream scenario: an actual snowfall on Christmas morning! Yes, not just a previous snow hanging around for the holiday but actual snowfall for Christmas! Nice!

Lets keep our fingers crossed here as things could change over the coming days, but at this point you have to feel good about your Weather Channel forecast for Christmas Weekend in the Capital Region:an 80% chance of snow this Friday with 3 to 5 inches of accumulation PLUS Christmas morning we will have an additional snowfall with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches! Rain is expected Saturday and could wash away the Friday snow, but snow on Christmas Day is a pretty solid insurance policy.

Yes, I know this is not the huge Christmas snowfall we dream about and see in the movies. But some fresh flakes on Christmas Day with a fresh coat of powder on the ground? That'll do just fine, and we'll take it right? Merry Christmas!
