State Activates Emergency Operations Center

In preparation of Hurricane Sandy impacting New York City and the State of New York in general Governor Andrew Cuomo has activated the state’s emergency operations center.The center will coordinate efforts and information between state, local and federal agencies to respond to the needs that Sandy may create throughout the state. Governor Cuomo’s press secretary Larry Swartz stressed to major items that we all need to be on top of. First, all residents should listen to and obey all emergency orders from their local officials. Secondly, residents should be looking out for themselves and their immediate neighbors and be ready to help while the storm passes through.
