Stabbing Death at Super 8 in Colonie

I hate to ask the question but I will anyways. What the hell is going on in the Capital Region with all of this violent crime?

A few minutes ago I posted a story about a fight in Saratoga on Maple Avenue that did not end well and landed on of the participants in surgery at Albany Medical Center. Now more new that's even worse in the area. A woman was found dead from stabbing in the Super 8 on Central Avenue Saturday night. She was with her boyfriend who made the call to authorities. This incident is still under inestigation and the boyfriend's involvement in the incident is still being investigated as well. More details here. 

Usually there is a rise in violent crime in a down economy. I don't know if that figures into this story, or the other, but there is way too much violent crime occuring right now in the area.
