St. Thomas The Apostle School Kids Sing About The Cooperstown Hall Of Fame – Reading, Writing and Rhyming [AUDIO]
Here’s their song in case you don’t want to read the rest, but I invite you to, and also to make comments at the bottom of the article. (Congratulate the kids -they’d love to read it!)
This was yet another repeat performance for me. I believe this was my third time at this fantastic school in the Delmar area. In fact, it turns out that these were the same kids that I’ve seen in the past! They had just come back from a field trip to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and wanted to write a song about it. No problem!
I have to thank a few people right off the top here. Darcy Micelli has been my “go to” person each year that I’ve been there. She has made all the arrangements for me, and even assisted this year in recording the kids doing the Pledge Of Allegience ( a new feature that we do on the show every day at 6 am)
Also thanks to the teacher, Mrs. Mendes, and the audio visual person, Mrs. Egan with her help in getting me to understand the finer points of the “white board” (what ever happened to a good old blackboard and chalk, I ask you?) I guess I just showed my age.
The kids (4th graders) had taken a field trip to the Cooperstown Hall Of Fame recently, and were psyched to sing about it, so we got to work. In 45 minutes they had it all worked out. Good times had by all, including me of course! Here is their creation.
Thanks, guys (and girls). Great job as always! Long live baseball!
