Some Poor Driving Decisions

Those of us that are traveling the roadways of the Albany area, or probably anywhere, see other drivers do some dumb things. I know I’m not the best driver and have made some possibly unsafe decisions. But when I see some dumb choices made by other drivers that I know could’ve been avoided, it makes me a little angry.

I guess I’m not the only one, because one of our Face Book friends, Courtney Lee, posted a picture that she took while she was riding in the passenger seat. This is the picture that I used for this article. (Thanks for letting me use the picture, Courtney) I’m glad that she took it, because I see it all the time. I’m usually driving, by myself, so I can’t take the picture. It was taken on the exit to Fuller Road from I90 in Albany. Someone decided to drive in the middle of the two lanes and stay there. Please choose a lane and stay in it. It creates a little bit of confusion, not to mention makes other drivers angry, and a little nervous.

It’s almost as bad as the drivers that don’t use that funny little lever near the steering wheel that lets others know that you’re turning. It’s called a turn signal or direction light. It seems that it’s forgotten about especially when someone is changing lanes, and they’re about one foot in front of you when they move into your lane.

Let’s not forget the person that gets in front of you and is going slower than the posted speed limit. This is one of my favorites, especially when it’s done in the left lane, like on Central Avenue in Colonie, or Washington Avenue Extension in Albany. They hurry to get into traffic and in some cases, make the person that they cut in front of, almost slam on their breaks.
