It's been a long, brutal, cold Northeast winter and sadly we saw several fires this winter take local landmarks and devastate local families.

Sadly, on Sunday, another winter fire struck the area. Thankfully, everyone made it out alive, but the Kleinke family of Slingerlands, NY lost everything in the house fire and they need your help to recover.

A local WGNA listener, Jonathan Wilkinson, is a long time friend of the Kleinke family and is asking for help.

On his Facebook page, Jonathan posted: "To All: a dear friends home burnt to the ground last night, she lost everything, Her husband was flown to a burn unit She has two daughters that need clothes size 8 and 14 and she is also 8 months pregnant. she could use ladies size 16 and mens pants 34×30 and shirts medium to large... If anyone has anything they can give please let me know girls clothes, baby boy clothes diapers you name it let me know."

People can help by donating at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church, in care of Aimee Kleinke, 75 Whitehall Rd., Albany, NY 12209 or to 11 Berkley RD Cohoes, NY 12047.
