It's been a problem for Albany residents most of the week and it looks like things won't change too much for the weekend either.

If you're heading in the area of Madison Avenue and New Scotland this weekend, prepare for detours. The sinkhole popped up earlier in the week and while workers are trying to contain the hole and fix the problems, but it's taking longer than expected.

The troubled spots are along Madison Avenue from South Lake Avenue to Willett Street and New Scotland Avenue from Dana Avenue to Washington Park. Traffic is being diverted through the park.

Mayor, Kathy Sheehan said, "It's a major inconvenience, we understand."
