Should A Man Color His Hair? I Say “Why Not?” [AUDIO]
OK, I said it. You got a problem with that? (Sorry, I'm a little testy, but it's been the subject the entire morning, and I'm getting a little tired of defending my decision!)
Like I said, I'm not ashamed to show it off There are many who "tweak" their hair color and would never admit it. (But even if I didn't want people to know, I work with a few people who would make sure that thousands of you are aware of it, so I might as well go with it! LOL)
It became the subject of one of our "Daily Dilemmas" today (a feature that we do each morning starting at 6:20 am, by the way).
I Googled this topic, by the way and found an interesting statistic. According to the NYTimes.com:
"While the number of men over 18 who color their hair doubled from 1999 to 2010, from 3 percent to 6 percent, among men age 50 to 64 the rate has grown even more, from 3 percent to 10 percent, according to Multi-sponsor Surveys, a research"
So I'm definitely not the only one. Just the only one brave enough to admit it on radio! Now I feel better about myself. Which is the whole reason for doing something like this, now isn't it?
PS. I've always been a little defensive about my hair. I've sung about it often over the years. Here's one example. This is a parody of George Strait's "The Chair" (a song that came out in 1982, although I recorded this back in 1991, but it still shows my age, and will show yours if you happen to remember this! )
So do you color your hair? Come on, admit it! Why, (or why not?) Would love to know!
