New York State Police were called to the Budget Inn Motel on Route 9. When they arrived at the scene, Troopers found an elderly man (a resident of the motel) outside of his room.

77-year-old Bruce A. Stevens allegedly started to struggle with the Troopers, but was eventually taken into custody. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department was also called to assist the Troopers.

In the article from the Ballston Journal, the shooting victim, who had a gunshot wound on his leg, was found not far from Stevens. Both people, the victim and shooter, were sent to Saratoga Hospital. They were treated and released.

Stevens was sent to the Saratoga County Jail after his arraignment in Malta Town Court. Stevens is facing some charges including Criminal Possession Of A Weapon In The Third Degree, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Use Of A Firearm In The First Degree.
